About Me

Thanks for stopping by. It's an honor to share a little about myself with you. As a writer, teacher, and speaker, my hope is to encourage you to overcome the past and provide you with tools to maximize the future.

As a woman of faith, I believe in the importance of a healthy relationship with Christ. As a child of an abusive, alcoholic father, I know that we are not defined by what has happened to us. As an imperfect wife and mother, I am committed to  using failures as stepping stones instead of stumbling blocks.

I hold a Psychology degree from McNeese State University, an MEd in Counseling from Sam Houston State University, a Senior Claims Law Associate, an Associates in Claims, and a certification in alcohol and drug abuse counseling.

I have over twenty years of corporate leadership experience leading both small and large teams to achieve extraordinary results. An experienced trainer, I have created and led numerous corporate workshops covering such topics as the power of attitude, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, time management, organization skills, and stress management. An inspirational teacher, I cover topics such as relationship tools, conflict management, overcoming the past, and facing hardships, all from a faith-based perspective.

I'm the author of the devotionals Hope from the Pit and Lessons for the Journey and am a freelance writer for both radio and print media.

As an adventurous introvert, I relish the chance to hike in the mountains, ski, or scuba-dive, but I'm most content simply spending time at home.

I'm happily married to my college sweetheart and a mother to a wonderful teen-aged daughter. We share a home in Texas with our two rescued mutts, but part of my heart will always be with my roots in the bayous of Louisiana. I love books, pizza, waterfalls, and animals, though not necessarily in that order.
