A Houston newborn, discarded like trash, was found in a bag on the side of the road. A Good Samaritan, out walking her dog, discovered the infant and notified authorities. An updated story in the paper showed a picture of a precious face and reported that the baby is perfectly healthy. Many families now hope to adopt it.
It’s difficult to understand what would lead someone to throw away a child. We struggled with infertility for years until we were blessed with our daughter. And despite multiple attempts afterward, amidst assurances from the doctor that conditions were perfect, she remains an only child.
Children enter the world through different circumstances. They may be eagerly awaited, seen as unintentional, or even outright rejected. But none are here by accident. Though the parents may not perceive it, God always has a plan. He will even take what was intended for harm and make it good.
Message for the Journey:
No matter the circumstances of your birth, you are cherished. Your life is not an "oops". You were created on purpose, put in this time and place for a reason, and loved more than any precious treasure.
It's time to embrace the truth of who you really are.
